2005년 설립 이후 한국문화예술교육진흥원(이하 교육진흥원)은 문화예술교육 정책과 사업을 꾸준히 추진해 왔다.

이 백서에는 제도와 실천이 맞물려 확장되어 온 지난 20년의 흐름과 성과를 영문으로 정리하였다.

각 시기별 사회적 배경과 정책, 환경, 비전 등의 맥락 속에서 주목할만한 성과를 되짚어 보았다.

20년, 사업별 기록에서는 교육진흥원이 추진해 온 모든 사업을 정리하였으며 수록한 20년을 만들어 온 아르떼人에서는 정책과 현장을 잇고, 사람과 사람을 연결해 온 교육진흥원 구성원들의 시선을 통해 지난 시간을 돌아보았다.
